The Election Commission (EC) of Kazi Habibul Awal has held meetings with diplomats from 14 countries. These diplomats are Bangladeshi representatives of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The meeting started at 3pm on July 3 (Sunday) at the Nirbachan Bhaban (election building) in the capital’s Agargaon.
The delegation included US Ambassador Peter D Haas, British High Commissioner Robert Chatterton Dickson, Canadian High Commissioner Lily Nichols, European Union (EU) Ambassador Charles Whiteley, Danish Ambassador Winnie Estrup Petersen, Assistant Ambassador of France Guillaume Audren de Kerdrel, German Ambassador Achim Troster, Ambassador of Italy Enrico Nunziata, Ambassador of Netherlands Anne van Leeuwen, Ambassador of Norway Espen Rikter-Svendsen, Ambassador of Spain Francisco de Asis Benitez Salas, Ambassador of Switzerland Nathalie Chuard, Ambassador of Turkey Mustafa Osman Turan, and Japan’s Deputy Head of Mission Yamaya Hiroyuki.
The meeting was attended by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal, Election Commissioners Brigadier General Ahsan Habib Khan (Retd), Begum Rasheda Sultana, Md Alamgir, EC Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath and other senior officials of the Commission.
