Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Kumar Doraiswami has said his stint in Bangladesh was a ‘career-defining honour’ to have served his country.
According to a UNB report, Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen hosted a farewell lunch for the outgoing Indian High Commissioner.
During the farewell speech marking the occasion on Sunday, the Bangladesh foreign secretary called him a true friend of this country.
“A career-defining honour to have served my country in this most vital and vibrant relationship,” reckoned the outgoing Indian diplomat.
According to him, the host foreign secretary has been a “gracious and helpful” partner, whose gentle humour and friendship he will miss.
Incumbent Indian ambassador to Vietnam, Pranay Kumar Verma has been appointed as the next high commissioner of the neighbouring country to Bangladesh.
The new envoy is expected to take up the assignment anytime soon.
