The fire engulfed the Netherlands-Bangladesh joint venture company last night. The fire spread from one container to another at around 10.45 pm. The depot had been housing around 50,000 containers at that time.
Fire service was unable to enter the scene due to a chemical container explosion. The death toll from the devastating fire is feared to rise further.
More than three hundred people have got injured. Those injured include workers as well as members of the police and fire service. Those injured are being treated in different wards of Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
