Apple Intelligence Now Auto-Enabled in iOS 18.3, Raising Privacy Concerns

Apple has rolled out iOS 18.3, addressing multiple security flaws while enhancing its visual intelligence features. The company has urged iPhone users to update immediately to protect against cyber threats. However, a significant change in this update has sparked controversy—‘Apple Intelligence’ now activates automatically upon installation.

This AI-powered feature collects data from various apps to analyze user behavior and even make automated decisions. Previously, users had to enable Apple Intelligence manually, but with iOS 18.3, it is switched on by default, leaving many concerned about privacy risks.

Experts warn that while Apple Intelligence offers smart automation, it could also compromise user privacy by accessing personal data without explicit permission. The sudden activation of AI-based features without user consent has led to backlash, with many questioning Apple’s approach to data security.

Fortunately, users can manually disable Apple Intelligence. To turn it off, go to Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri, toggle off the feature, and confirm by selecting ‘Turn Off Apple Intelligence’ in the prompt.

As Apple pushes deeper into AI integration, concerns over data privacy and user control continue to grow. Will Apple address these concerns in future updates? Only time will tell.
