This year, the results of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations have seen a 95.26% pass rate.
Of the entire batch of examinees, 95.57% passed HSC, 95.49% Madrasah Board and 92.85% Technical Board examinations.
A grand total of 13,06,718 examinees came out successful in the examinations across the country’s all 11 education boards.

A total of 1,89,169 students secured the highest grade GPA 5 this time against a total of 1,61,807 last year.Of those successful, 1,78,522 achieved the highest grade GPA 5 under nine general education boards while 4,872 under the Madrasha Education Board and 5,775 under the Technical and Vocational Education Board.
A total of 14,03,244 candidates took part in the HSC and equivalent exams from 9,183 educational institutions under 11 education boards in the country.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday unveiled the results joining virtually from her official Ganabhaban residence in Dhaka.The HSC and equivalent results will be available on mobile phones and the websites of the education ministry (http://www.educationboardresults.gov.bd) as well as that of the education boards soon.
This time, the exams were held on fewer subjects following a shortened syllabus eight months later than the usual schedule due to coronavirus pandemic.As the examinees took tests only in three optional subjects, they did not have to sit for tests in compulsory subjects like Bangla and English. Also, the exams carried fewer marks.
