Trump comes down hard on Biden administration in inauguration speech

“From this moment on, America’s decline is over.”

One of the many straight-forward, strong statements by US President Donald Trump in his inaugural speech as he steps into the role of the 47th president of the United States.

During his inaugural address, Trump slammed former President Joe Biden’s administration, stating that they had endangered the nation’s borders due to corruption and incompetence.

He also stated that the new Trump administration would restore integrity, loyalty and competence to the country. Trump spoke about the challenges he faced, including an assassination attempt during the presidential elections and said that he was saved by God to ‘Make America Great Again’. He also announced that 20 January was now “liberation day” for all Americans.

He also hinted at what his future policies and direction would be like by clearly stating that all the decisions taken by his administration would be driven by “America first” strategy. He also said he would declare a national emergency at the southern border, implying that it would be one of the first moves by his administrations to come down hard on illegal immigration.

“We will begin the process of returning millions and millions of illegal aliens from where they came,” he said in the speech, hinting at mass deportations. He also said he would “send troops to the southern border to repel the disastrous invasion of aliens” into the US.

He stated that he will be designating criminal cartels as foreign terrorist organisations.

“Drill, Baby Drill”

Trump announced that he will end the green new deal and announce a national energy emergency in order to end the inflation crisis and boost the automobile industry.

On “record inflation”, he said he would direct his government to address the inflation crisis immediately.

He promised the US would be a rich nation again.

Taxes, free speech

“Instead of taxing our own people, we will establish an external revenue service to collect tariffs, duties, and revenues – massive amounts of money – from foreign services and countries,” Trump announced.

He said he will sign an executive order to bring “free speech” to America, and end censorship by the government, which he said he was well-versed in..

He added that “justice will be fair and equal” while “law and order” will be restored in US cities.

Another official policy he announced, will be only two genders – male and female. That will cause consternation among the US public.

However, he said he wants to be remembered as a “peacemaker and a unifier”, referring to the Gaza ceasefire.

Trump said his government would ensure to “make America great again”.

“The golden age of America begins right now,” he said.
