The artificial intelligence (AI) software ChatGPT has surpassed the milestone of over 300 million active users each week. Its creator, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, announced this information at the New York Times DealBook conference. Notably, just last August, ChatGPT’s weekly user count had reached 200 million. Sam Altman stated, “Our product is now expanding widely. We have over 300 million active users every week, who are sending over 1 billion messages daily.”
Since its launch in 2022, ChatGPT has gained unprecedented popularity. To further enhance user experience, OpenAI regularly adds new features. Currently, ChatGPT includes an AI-powered search engine that gathers relevant information from the web and presents it concisely. Additionally, a new ‘Canvas’ interface has been introduced, allowing users to easily edit the code generated by ChatGPT.
Apple has also advanced in utilizing this technology. They have directly integrated ChatGPT into Siri through iOS 18.2. It is expected that this update, currently in its beta version, will enable ChatGPT to reach an even larger number of users.
This integration signifies a significant step in making AI more accessible and user-friendly, bridging the gap between advanced technology and everyday applications. As ChatGPT continues to evolve and expand its user base, it promises to play an increasingly vital role in various aspects of digital communication and information processing.
