Running from December 5 to December 14, the 10-day event features 120 films from 81 countries, including Bangladesh’s notable entry, ‘Saba’, directed by Maksud Hossain. Prominent Bangladeshi actress Mehjabin is actively participating in the festival.
In a delightful surprise for fans, Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor appeared in a selfie with Mehjabin this evening, creating a buzz on social media. The screening of ‘Saba’ took place today at 2:30 PM local time, and shortly after, around 6 PM Bangladesh time, Mehjabin shared two photos from the event. One of the photos showcased her alongside Ranbir Kapoor, wearing an elegant red saree, which received over six thousand reactions within just 46 minutes. Fans praised her stunning appearance and expressed excitement over the unexpected collaboration.
‘Saba’ is scheduled for additional screenings on December 9 and December 14. The film, featuring Rokeya Prachi and Mehjabin Chowdhury, narrates the poignant story of a single mother and her daughter, highlighting themes of resilience and sacrifice. Following her mother’s illness, Saba takes on the responsibility of caregiving and works at Cissa Bar to fund her treatment.
