A tragic incident at the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule in Hyderabad has landed pan-India star Allu Arjun in legal trouble. A 35-year-old woman named Revathi lost her life in a stampede at the Sandhya Theatre in Chikkadpally on December 4. Her 13-year-old son, Sritej, also suffered severe injuries due to suffocation and is now under 48-hour observation at a local hospital.
The incident unfolded when Allu Arjun made a surprise visit to the theatre to greet fans during the 9:30 PM premiere. The actor’s unannounced appearance created a massive frenzy among the crowd. Revathi and her son, who had come to watch the premiere, were caught in the chaos. The stampede resulted in Revathi’s tragic death, while her son fainted due to lack of air.
Revathi’s family has filed a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre owner under Sections 105 and 118(1). They allege that no prior announcement of the actor’s arrival was made, nor were adequate security measures in place. The family also accused Allu’s security personnel of pushing and shoving fans, exacerbating the chaos.
Police have confirmed lapses in crowd control by the theatre and inadequate arrangements for Allu Arjun’s safety, leading to the tragic loss of life.
