The Bangladesh U-19 women’s cricket team has secured a spot in the Asia Cup final after a commanding 9-wicket victory over Nepal in their last Super Four match in Kuala Lumpur. Bangladesh will face India in the final on Sunday.
Rain reduced the match to 11 overs per side, with Nepal batting first and managing just 54 runs for 8 wickets. Bangladesh’s disciplined bowling and sharp fielding saw four Nepal batters run out, while Farzana Yasmin, Anisa Akter, Fahmida Chhoa, and Habiba Islam took a wicket each.
In reply, Bangladesh chased down the target in 9.5 overs, losing only one wicket. Fahmida Chhoa, named Player of the Match, scored an unbeaten 26 runs and took one wicket for 14 runs.
India topped the Super Four standings with 7 points, followed by Bangladesh with 6 points from three wins. Sunday’s final will be a thrilling rematch between the two top teams, as Bangladesh looks to emulate their U-19 men’s team, who defeated India to claim the Asia Cup earlier this month.
