Street harassment is a widespread issue, and addressing it requires courage and confidence. In a new campaign by L’Oréal Paris, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shares an empowering message on how to tackle it.
She encourages women to face the issue head-on, saying, “Avoid eye contact? No. Look the problem directly in the eyes. Hold your head high. Feminine and feminist. My body, my worth. Never compromise your worth. Do not doubt yourself. Stand up for your worth. Don’t blame your dress or your lipstick. Street harassment is never your fault.”
This campaign was launched on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. It also highlights L’Oréal Paris’s Stand Up Against Street Harassment training program, aiming to equip individuals with tools to combat harassment confidently.
The campaign ties into L’Oréal’s presence at Paris Fashion Week, where stars like Jane Fonda, Kendall Jenner, Eva Longoria, Alia Bhatt, and Aishwarya walked the ramp. Aishwarya also posed behind the scenes with Eva Longoria and Aja Naomi King, showcasing solidarity.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, crowned Miss World in 1994, remains a global icon, inspiring women worldwide to embrace their worth and stand against harassment.
