The 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards celebrated top music talent at Manchester’s Co-op Live arena, where Taylor Swift, BTS’s Jimin, and Sabrina Carpenter were among the night’s biggest winners. Taylor Swift, though absent, led with multiple awards, including Best Artist, Best Live, Best US Act, and Best Video for *Fortnight*, her hit collaboration with Post Malone. In a video acceptance speech, Taylor thanked Post Malone, calling him “the most amazing co-star possible.”
South African artist Tyla took home three awards: Best Afrobeats, Best R&B, and Best African Act. Tyla thrilled the crowd with an energetic medley performance of *Push 2 Start* and *Water*, accompanied by dynamic dancers. Sabrina Carpenter claimed the Best Song award for *Espresso*, while Ariana Grande won Best Pop.
Notably, Jimin from BTS won Best K-Pop, and Lisa claimed the Biggest Fans award, also taking Best Collaboration with Rosalia for *New Woman*. However, nominees Billie Eilish and Charli XCX went home without wins, despite multiple nominations.
Other notable winners included Calvin Harris (Best Electronic), Eminem (Best Hip-Hop), and Busta Rhymes, who received the Global Icon award. The star-studded evening included a tribute to former One Direction member Liam Payne.
