Chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Khaleda Zia, has been hospitalised due to high fever and complications related to her heart, according to her doctors. Khaleda Zia, who has been suffering from arthritis-kidney and heart complications, underwent a heart block ring procedure at Evercare Hospital on February 27.

The medical board responsible for her treatment has decided to keep her in the hospital for two more days as they found two blocks in her heart after her health check-up conducted on April 29. The doctors are waiting for further reports to know the reason behind her excessive fever and to determine whether any new problem has arisen. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and Nazrul Islam Khan, Vice Chairman AZM Zahid Hossain, and other leaders of the party were present when Zia left her residence in Gulshan and was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Bashundhara residential area.

Khaleda Zia is a prominent political figure in Bangladesh and has been leading the opposition party for several years. Her health issues have been a cause of concern for her supporters and followers, and her hospitalisation has caused widespread speculation about the future of the party. The medical board will decide on her treatment based on the health examination report, and her supporters and followers are hoping for her speedy recovery.
