The Panchagarh-bound Drutayan Express train collided with an empty bus of Shohag Paribahan at the Malibagh rail crossing in the capital city Dhaka on Thursday night (March 22), at 8:50 pm.

At this time, the train pushed the bus about 200 meters and came to a stop. As the bus was empty, no one was injured, and the driver and helper of the bus escaped. According to railway sources, despite the signal indicating the arrival of the train at the Malibagh railway gate, the gatekeeper failed to lower the gate in time.

On the other hand, the commuter train from Dewanganj was also heading towards Dhaka and came to a stop at the railway gate.”

Fire service units are working at the scene where the accident occurred. According to the Duty Officer of Fire Service, Rafi Al Faruq, there were no casualties and no damage to the train or railway line. However, the bus was hit by the train and efforts are underway to remove it from the scene.
