A total of 40 brands from Bangladesh have been recognised by Superbrands Bangladesh as the most prestigious and valuable brands for the year 2023–24. The organisation revealed these names in a grand award ceremony honouring these brands of Bangladesh last night at a city hotel.
The unveiling of the cover of Superbrands’ publication for the next two years was also marked at the ceremony. Launched in 1994 as a global arbiter for brands, Superbrands operates in 90 countries around the world. “Superbrands” have become a pivotal name in the corporate world as the most eminent success symbols for brands all over the world.
Independent and voluntary panels of experts were there to select the brands from a broad range of backgrounds to be marked as “super” through a specific selection process. This panel is known as “Brand Council” officially. Bangladesh’s selection of Superbrands has also been assessed by this council.
The cover of Superbrands Bangladesh 2023–24 was designed by Nazia Andaleeb Preema. She is a visual artist, founder of the Bangladesh Creative Forum, director and creative editor of the Bangladesh Brand Forum, and president of Women in Leadership (WIL). The magazine Superbrands Bangladesh is the signature publication of Superbrands in Bangladesh, where success stories of brands that are selected as “Super” are covered.
The Jury process
The jury process followed by Superbrands to select brands before the start of the award-giving segment has been described thoroughly by International Distributions Company Bangladesh (Pvt.) Ltd.’s Managing Director Ashraf Bin Taj. He said, “The brands to be awarded here are selected here through a specific process, maintaining global practices. The Brand Council evaluates brands at various stages in order to select the top brands from various segments to be awarded.
The council, which consists of 16 members from multidisciplinary elites, selects the Superbrands thought scoring module, and the Global Superbrands team checks the scores later.
In its assessment points, each brand is scored out of 20, and the following are considered while giving scores there: 1. brand heritage; 2. category relevance of the brand; 3. perceived quality; 4. perceived performance; and 5. TOMA (top of mind awareness).
The brands that get the highest scores then get an invitation to receive their awards as “Superbrands” of the country.
The Managing Director of Superbrands Bagladesh, Shariful Islam, said,”Great brands that keep their promises over time when it comes to products and services earn people’s trust, which makes them Superbrands.”
