A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter Scale shook Dhaka and other parts of the country early on Monday (Today).
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake’s epicenter was approximately 10 kilometers below the surface of the Bay of Bengal. The tremors were reported in Chattogram, Dhaka, and other areas at around 9 a.m.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department said that the epicenter of the earthquake was 529 kilometers from Dhaka, 340 kilometers from Cox’s Bazar, and 397 kilometers from Chattogram. However, no injuries or casualties have been reported so far.
