The East West University Business Club (EWUBC) held its flagship event – “Career Clinic 2022”, powered by ShareTrip, on October 24. The event aimed at providing a broader overview to future graduates about the corporate world and helping them to carve a roadmap to their desired careers.

As one of Bangladesh’s most well-known business clubs, EWUBC is committed to assisting students in developing their entrepreneurial and leadership abilities. Throughout the club’s 20-year history, they have assisted in the development of innumerable young talents into not only qualified candidates but also future leaders.

Career Clinic 2022 was designed to provide students with firsthand knowledge of how Bangladesh’s major corporations operate. The first two segments of the event were a CV and Cover Letter writing workshop, which was then followed by a panel discussion round, and a Q/A session. The seminar was conducted by the keynote speaker of the event – GM Kamrul Hassan, former CEO of Igloo and Sindabad.com.

He provided valuable insights into all of the different industries in Bangladesh and helped participants learn how each of them works. Furthermore, the resume writing workshop was coordinated by Mr. Abu Usuf Md Rashedul Amin, General Manager of Employer Branding at Bkash.

The panel discussion round featured several distinguished industry veterans including the likes of Rajshekhar Debnath (CFO of Finance & HR Division, RedDot Digital Limited), Bishwajit Das (Sales Director, Reckitt Benkiser BD), Sarifuddin Nawroz (Head of Business-Life Essentials, Unilever Bangladesh Limited), Sanjoy Kumar Das (Head of Organization Development and HR Strategy, City Bank), Sayeda Tahya Hossain (HR Director, Perfetti Van Melle Bangladesh), Sharmin Rahman (Acting Head of Marketing, Grameenphone), Rezwan Ullah Khan (Senior Marketing Manager, Akij Group Ltd), and Jihad Bin Tahzeeb (Account Director, Grey Advertising Bangladesh Limited).

Throughout the session, the panelists talked about all the different issues fresh graduates and recruiters face in the job market, which included topics like the value of extracurricular activities, changes in the corporate sector, adjusting to evolving industries, and pursuing careers overseas. And all of the discussions were facilitated by Dr. MD Abdul Momen, Associate Professor of East West University.

The last segment of the event was held on October 29, when students participated in a CV screening round and interview session. Throughout this stage, several HR heads and experts from some of the country’s major organizations provided critical feedback on the participants’ resume writing and interview abilities so that they might develop them and be more equipped for their future. Finally, EWUBC held a closing ceremony on November 22 to commemorate success of “Career Clinic 2022” and appreciate substantial support of ShareTrip and the event partners.
