Bangladesh government has decided to reduce the price of diesel, octane, petrol and kerosene by TK 5 per litre. The energy department has confirmed that, this price will be in effect starting from August 29 at night.

The National Board of Revenue has issued a notification on August 28 to reduce advance tax exemption and import duty on diesel from 10 percent to 5 percent. In the new decision, the price of diesel and kerosene will be TK 109 per litre. Petrol and Octane will be TK 125 and TK 130 respectively. On August 5 night, the price of fuels was suddenly increased by TK 46 per litre. This sudden increase in fuel oil prices has impacted the market negatively.

The prices of all the daily necessities started to rise immediately. As a result, the common people went under the pressure for the unrestrained rise in product prices. Finally, the government has taken steps to adjust the price of fuel oil after the intense discussions and criticisms of the last few days.
