As Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) leader Shehbaz Sharif gets sworn-in as the new Prime Minister after melodrama – thereby bringing an apparent end to the political turmoil that gripped the country since a no-confidence motion was introduced against his predecessor Imran Khan of PTI, rumour mill now runs high as to who are going to get a place in the new Cabinet.

Some local media in Pakistan are circulating stories that the political parties that have left Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) along with their own will dominate the new Cabinet.

According to various sources, Shehbaz Sharif’s PML-N will get a majority in the new Cabinet with 12 ministers. In addition, Bilawal Bhutto’s Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) may have seven and Fazlur Rahman’s Ulema-e-Islam may have four ministers.

The Muttahida Qaomi Movement (MQM-P) of Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui could get two ministries. In addition, Asfandia’s Wali Khan’s Awami National Party (ANP), Nawabzada Shahjain Bugti’s Jamhuri Watan Party (JWP) and Jam Kamal Khan’s Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) could take one ministry each.

The name of Azam Nazir Tarar is under consideration for the Leader of Pakistan’s Parliament in the Senate. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari could be the next foreign minister of Pakistan. Another name from his camp, Shazia Mari is also under consideration for this post.
