According to the Dhaka University Master Plan, a wide-open terrace will be built in front of the Shaheed Minar’s main plaza, with another semi-plaza being built on the open terrace’s north-western side. Meanwhile, a new pod will be installed on the eastern side. The responsible authorities have made steps to remodel the ancient building on the Dhaka University campus after 38 years. A road will also be built around the rear of the Shaheed Minar Complex.

The 2.17-acre residential area for Dhaka University (DU) instructors to the north of the Shaheed Minar, as well as the nearby Shibbari neighborhood and the road in front of the complex, would be demolished to make way for the planned new terrace.
The project’s planners anticipate that this will encourage people to hold rallies and other social events in the semi-plaza rather than the main plaza.
