With Ukraine and Taiwan in the background, we are seeing a new coalition throwing challenge to the western powers on the battlefield of geopolitics. China, Russia, and Iran are increasingly working in cohesion on the global stage to position their national interest and international influence. Whilst the present scenarios are reminding us of the days of the cold war, world leaders must recognize that actual wars and conflicts can have severe humanitarian crises across the globe.

Our compatriots near the Myanmar border have also suffered from the scare of armed conflict when Myanmar has repeatedly breached our sovereignty in the last few weeks. A strong diplomatic stance by our foreign department and armed forces has ensured that our neighbours get the message of sustainable peace.
In domestic politics, we have seen unnecessary bloodshed in recent times. We must not get back to the field battle of the past in the name of democracy. The true value of a matured democracy must be earned with the wits and policy-making prowess of the politicians. It should be our national duty to ensure that the value of democracy is not measured with blood.
