The Bangladesh Embassy in Poland has advised Bangladeshi people living in Ukraine to leave the country due to the recent upheaval. Around 500 Bangladeshis are estimated to be living in Ukraine right now, according to unofficial estimates.

“Bangladeshi nationals in Ukraine may consider leaving Ukraine temporarily,” said an urgent circular issued by the Bangladesh embassy in Warsaw, the capital city of Poland.

  • Approximately 500 Bangladeshis presently live in Ukraine
  • Bangladesh asked its residents in Ukraine to leave temporarily
  • Bangladeshis in Ukraine asked to provide whereabouts to embassy

The circular at the same time encouraged Bangladeshi people to avoid all types of trips to Ukraine unless necessary. The embassy will continue to advise the Bangladeshi expatriates to monitor the general situation in Ukraine, according to the circular.

In addition, all Bangladeshi residents in Ukraine have been requested to provide information about their location to the embassy. This will enable the embassy to contact them in case of an emergency.

The embassy also stated that it would keep a close eye on the situation and provide updated guidance later.
