Varun Dhawan’s much-anticipated Christmas release Baby John has turned out to be one of the biggest box office disappointments of 2024. Despite a promising double-digit opening, the film has experienced a drastic earnings collapse since its second day, failing to sustain momentum at the ticket counters.

On Day 10 (January 3), Baby John collected a mere ₹45 lakh, bringing its total earnings to just ₹36.85 crore, according to data from Sacnilk. The film’s Hindi occupancy rate plummeted to a concerning 10.86% on its second Friday, further reflecting the sharp decline in audience interest.

Directed by Kalees and backed by Atlee’s A for Apple Studios, along with Jio Studios, Cine1 Studios, and Vipin Agnihotri Films, the film stars Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, and Rajpal Yadav, with Salman Khan making a cameo appearance. Despite its star-studded cast, the Hindi remake of the 2016 Tamil hit Theri has failed to impress.

Adding to its woes, Baby John faced stiff competition from Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, which continues to dominate the box office since its December 5 release. Atlee addressed the situation, denying a direct clash, but the numbers tell a different story—Baby John stands as one of 2024’s most significant box office failures.
