In a breathtaking fourth T20 in St. Lucia, West Indies clinched a remarkable victory, chasing down England’s imposing target of 219 with 5 wickets and an over to spare. The high-octane clash saw a combined total of 439 runs and a staggering 32 sixes.

England’s innings began explosively as openers Phil Salt and Will Jacks put on 54 runs in just 30 balls. Salt smashed 55 off 35 deliveries, while Jacob Bethell anchored the innings with an unbeaten 62 off 32 balls. Contributions from captain Jos Buttler (38 off 23) and Sam Curran (24 off 13) propelled England to 218/5.

However, West Indies’ openers Shai Hope and Evin Lewis were equally destructive. Their scintillating 136-run stand off just 55 balls laid the foundation for the chase. Lewis blazed 68 off 31 balls, while Hope’s 54 off 24 earned him the Player of the Match award. A brief collapse saw the hosts lose 3 wickets in as many balls, but Rovman Powell (38 off 23) and Sherfane Rutherford (29* off 17) ensured victory in 19 overs.

Though England leads the series 3-1, this victory showcased West Indies’ firepower, setting up an exciting finale in the fifth and final match tonight.
