“No one should create chaos. An evil force will try to create chaos. Everyone should be aware of this,” Sheikh Hasina staunchly declared, during a gathering with leaders and activists of Upazila Awami League and associated organizations.

The premier called upon the leaders and activists affiliated with the Awami League and allied organizations to unite their efforts, recognizing the vital importance of collective action in maintaining order and stability.

Addressing leaders and activists, she emphasized the significance of upholding the election code of conduct.

Adherence to Election Code of Conduct

As the 12th National Election approaches in Bangladesh, optimism fills the air as leaders from diverse political parties express their aspirations for a free, fair, and inclusive electoral procedure.

In light of the upcoming elections, Sheikh Hasina emphasized the significance of campaigning in strict accordance with the election code of conduct set forth by the Election Commission. She reiterated that this code should be strictly followed without any deviation, underscoring the importance of upholding the sanctity of the electoral process.

EC Prepares for Credible Election

The Election Commission, in adherence to the Representation of the People Order (RPO) and the Electoral Act, has undertaken extensive preparations to uphold the integrity of the forthcoming parliamentary elections.

Recent enhancements to the RPO have bolstered the Election Commission’s authority, granting it augmented powers. Through these amendments, the EC now possesses the ability to nullify voting outcomes at affected centers upon detecting irregularities during post-voting investigations. Furthermore, the EC holds the authority to suspend the issuance of gazettes.

To streamline the electoral process, the EC will promptly release a public notification and appoint returning officers (ROs) and assistant returning officers (AROs). Empowered by legal mandates within electoral regulations, the ROs, supported by AROs, will oversee essential tasks ensuring the fairness of the elections. Additionally, the EC intends to dispatch a formal letter to the cabinet division, soliciting assistance and requesting the continuity of field-level government officers until the election results are officially announced.

Empowerment Through Propaganda and Outreach

Advocating a robust approach to governance, Sheikh Hasina urged the government to engage in extensive propaganda focusing on development, progress, and prosperity. Emphasizing the significance of direct engagement with the citizens, she encouraged leaders and activists to take government successes to people’s doorsteps and underscored the importance of amplifying the government’s achievements.

Government’s Efforts

The government and election commission’s dedication to fostering a transparent and secure electoral setting is clearly evident. The proactive security protocols, the Election Commission’s stringent stance on those breaching the Electoral code of conduct, along with the diverse range of candidates and the competitive ambiance, collectively demonstrate a steadfast commitment to preserving democratic principles and perpetuating the longstanding democratic tradition in Bangladesh.

Awami League’s Commitment to Progress

As the country approaches crucial times, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s message resonates as a rallying cry for order, progress, and a united front against any disruptive elements aiming to thwart Bangladesh’s advancement.

Addressing the contrast between the past and present leadership, Sheikh Hasina criticized the previous administration, stating, “BNP has not done anything for Basanti since being in power, Just profited.”Highlighting the transformative changes initiated by the Awami League, she reinforced the commitment to elevate Basanti’s status through active governance and dedicated efforts.

As the country approaches crucial times, her message resonates as a rallying cry for order, progress, and a united front against any disruptive elements aiming to thwart Bangladesh’s advancement.

Proper Voting Environment

Since the country prepares for the Jatiya Sangsad Election, the Election Commission’s firm stance against electoral misconduct plays a pivotal role in cultivating a transparent and accountable democratic framework. This approach instills a sense of security and assurance among voters, fostering an environment conducive to fair elections. It not only showcases the Election Commission’s unwavering dedication but also emphasizes the government’s pledge to equitable governance. The collaborative endeavors of both the Election Commission and the government stand poised to establish a democratic process that citizens can rely on and take pride in.
