Mystery surrounds the discovery of a dead body found in the car of the Managing Director (MD) of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant. The body was discovered wrapped in a sack in a white Toyota Land Cruiser car that had been abandoned for two days near Sadipur Ghat in Kushtia. The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old driver Samrat Ali, a resident of Ishwardi Upazila in Pabna.

According to the police, Samrat worked as a driver for RDB, a vehicle supplier at Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant. The car belongs to Yuri Federov, the MD of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant and Director of Russian Nikimat Company. Samrat had reportedly been missing for two days and his family had filed a GD at Pabna’s Ishwardi police station on Thursday (March 23).
Local residents informed the police of the stench emanating from the car, leading to the discovery of the body. The police believe that Samrat was killed in the Ishwardi area of Pabna and the body, along with the car, was left in the Sadipur Ghat area of Kumarkhali in Kushtia.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. The Kumarkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), Mohsin Hossain, confirmed that the body and the vehicle are being handed over to the Ishwardi police station. Moreover, the police have detained Seema, the wife of Momin, for questioning because Momin is a friend of the deceased who was found dead in the car, and Momin is missing. The police hope to learn more about Momin’s whereabouts and any information that could help with their investigation.
