More than 90% of Covid patients are reluctant to undergo coronavirus test. A recent survey, conducted by Universal Medical College and Research Centre, has revealed.
Of the 1202 people who took part in the survey, 75% were physicians who were treating Covid patients. They said that more than 90% of the patients who came to them showed reluctance to undergo Covid-19 test.
The reason behind this is that more than 53% of the respondents said the lack of opportunity to take the test has created this disinterest.
In addition, 16% of patients have lost interest in test due to late test results and incorrect reports. The third big reason was found to be the fear of being socially degraded. This rate is also 16%. Another reason for people’s disinterest is the cost of the test.
The number of tests in Bangladesh has decreased in recent days. On 9th March, the number was just 16,225. Among them, 323 fresh Covid cases were detected with the positivity rate of 1.9%.
