Jashore Education Board has secured a 92.32% pass rate, the highest among the nine boards in the 2024 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination.
Sylhet, on the other hand, remained at the bottom with a 73.35% pass rate. The board was at the bottom with a 76.06% pass rate last year as well.

The pass rate for female students is slightly higher at 84.47%, while male students have a pass rate of 81.57%.

PM Ask to Explore Why Boys Lag Behind Girls in Exams
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked the authorities concerned to find out the reasons as to why boys are declining in number and lagging behind girls in their academic results.
“We’ve to find out the reasons as to why the boys are fewer in numbers,” she said while publishing the results on Sunday morning.
She said the total number of candidates is 20,38,150 under 11 education boards this year. Among them, the number of boys is 9,99,364, while that of girls is 10,38,786.
The PM said it needs to take the initiative now to unearth the causes why boys are declining in number. “In case of the pass percentage, the girls are ahead of the boys. It is fine. Even then I would like to say that we’ve to pay attention to it,” she said.
The prime minister also asked the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) and education boards to look into the matter and find the reason as to why the number of students is reducing. “The number of boys is not supposed to go down. It should be equal (to that of girls),” she added.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said her government is bringing changes to the curriculum and the method of education mainly to cut dependency on learning through memorization to flourish the talents and creativity of the students.

She said her government has introduced pre-primary education to teach the children through play. “There is a way to educate the children through toys and we are creating that scope,” she said. One child can easily learn the name of seven continents by jumping from one to another continent on a world map, she opined.
She said her government has attached topmost priority to education as they know that no nation can develop without education. “Our target is to eradicate poverty. Poverty alleviation is not possible without an educated nation. So, we consider expenses in education as an investment,” she said.
2,968 Schools See 100% Pass Rate
A total of 2,968 educational institutions have achieved a 100% pass rate in this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations, up from 2,354 last year.
The number of education institutes slightly increased from 29,714 in 2023 to 29,861 in 2024.

However, the total centers for examinations slightly decreased from 3,810 in 2023 to 3,799 in 2024.
As many as 182,129 students secured a grade point average (GPA) of 5, slightly lower than last year’s figure.
However, the students of 51 schools and madrasahs have failed to clear this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations.
In 2023, the figure was 48, while it was 50 in 2022 and 18 in 2021.

Likewise, to obtain the Alim results, students need to send a text message by typing ALIM [space] MAD [space] Roll Number [space] 2024 and send it to 16222.
For technical board results, the students will have to type SSC [space] Tec [space] Roll Number [space] 2024 and send it to 16222.

The result sheet of that educational institution will be available for download.
Meanwhile, if anyone is not satisfied with the published results, they can apply for reevaluation or challenge the grades. This process will begin on Monday and will continue until May 19.
